Stop treating a reality-testing failure as a loophole or a character lesson. Secure the room. Reduce the load. Get the right adult.
From the Clinic and the Classroom — No Magic Wand
Two lies with teeth. Two books that refuse them.
Lie 01“Psychosis can be switched on for the meeting.”
Lie 02“A jury exists to approve what the majority already believes.”

Psychosis, Awareness, and the Myth of On-Demand Insanity
This book takes on one specific lie, and that lie does real damage in clinics, courtrooms, and classrooms. The lie says psychosis is a performance a person can call up on demand. It says awareness is all on or all off. It says someone who was coherent on Thursday can't have been lost on Friday unless they planned it.
Biological and neurodevelopmental limits, read with diagnostic rigor. Psychosis has a body. Insight can be partial. Trauma can look loud and still not be a primary psychotic disorder.
“They’re faking it for the meeting.”
An adult trying to argue someone back into reality while residual charge is still in the room.
Don't debate a delusion as if winning the argument will schedule insight. Protect the household. Seek the right level of care. Return to the relationship when a window opens. Not as a wand. As a sequence.
Thursday’s clarity proves nothing about Friday.
And one dissent is no malfunction.

The Lindsay Clancy Holdout, Jury Coercion, and the American Right to Dissent
Plymouth Superior Court · September 4, 2026
After about thirty-eight hours of deliberation over seven days, Judge William F. Sullivan declared a mistrial in Commonwealth v. Lindsay Clancy. The jury could not agree on one question: had the Commonwealth proved, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Clancy was criminally responsible when she strangled her children in their Duxbury home on January 24, 2023?
Cora, five · Dawson, three · Callan, eight months
Three children are dead. She is the person who took their lives.
The American criminal jury isn't a committee that exists to ratify the majority's grief. If eleven are convinced and one is not, the system hangs.
These two truths have to be held together. The book keeps both in view.
